WHAT WILL YOU BE DOING TO CREATE A SAFE AND HYGIENIC VENUE?
The National Hotel will be deep cleaned, sanitised and reset in line with the Victorian Government Hospitality Guidelines, and our Covid Safe Plan. This will include physical distancing between tables, lots of handwashing stations and table service so you don’t have to wait in line at the bars.
HOW MANY CAN WE BOOK FOR?
You can currently have up to 10 people on a table, including children. Bookings are recommended.
WILL YOU TAKE OUR DETAILS ON ENTRY?
Yes, we will be required to take your details for contact tracing, they will be kept safely for 28 days and not used for any other purposes
WHAT ELSE DO I NEED TO DO?
Wash and sanitise your hands regularly, maintain social distancing and continue doing the right thing.
What should I do if I experience antisocial behaviour in the venue?
The National Hotel strives to be a safe & inclusive space. If you experience antisocial behaviour in the venue please don’t hesitate to speak to a staff member.
Does The National have wheelchair access?
Yes, via the entrance on Victoria Street. We also have a fully accessible bathroom in the beergarden.
Are Under 18s allowed at The National?
Under 18s are welcome in the venue during kitchen hours. On Friday & Saturday nights this is 10pm at the latest.
Can I bring my dog to The National?
Yes, dogs are welcome in the beer garden and entry is via Lambert st.
Does The National have high chairs?
Yes, we have highchairs. Let us know that you are after one while booking.
Where is best to park at The National?
There is street parking along Victoria St and surrounding side streets, although be sure to check the signs for permit zones or clearways.
How do I get to The National via public transport?
Trams routes that take you here directly are the 109 Box Hill tram, the 24 North Balwyn tram and the 78 Chapel street tram. The nearest train station, North Richmond, is a 12 minute walk away.
Can I pre-order a meal?
If you’re on a tight schedule then you’re welcome to pre-order your meal. For large groups, we require at least 2 hours notice either over the phone or via email and are unable to split bills.
What facilities does The National provide?
We have an ATM and cigarette machine located in the walkway through to the courtyard.
